This work is an exploration of Visual Tactility, focusing on the immense depth created through liquid manipulation rather than physical height. It began as a highly saturated, "wet-on-wet" experiment, where Yellow Ochre was etched with a palette knife and refined with a broad varnish brush. By using a squirt bottle to create additional patterns within the drying pigment, the foundation carries an atmospheric warmth that feels both calm and intentional.
The composition is grounded by a structured application of black pigment. Utilizing a scraper tool, I introduced a series of rhythmic patterns that cut through the golden warmth, adding a layer of "Quiet Authority." This phase creates a sophisticated contrast, turning the happy, light-filled background into a modern, industrial statement that feels balanced and secure.
The final layer is a precise, horizontal dispersion of pigment concentrated through the center of the canvas. This intentional "sprinkle" bridges the two worlds, adding a sense of movement to the otherwise static depth. It is a warm, modern piece that proves complexity is found in the architectural layers of the paint, not just the physical ridges on the surface.
